Forgotten Fire
The only feeling in the fire was getting burned.
Axel had never wanted more than that. That was the only thing he had counted on actually, for the world he existed in was all ice. It was not at all unpleasant really, but it was at times disturbing, brushing fingertips against the walls and feeling everything else but the wall.
Though, technically, they were not supposed to feel. They were Nobodies, after all. Emotions were an illusion created by the heart and since they didn’t possess one, they didn’t feel.
It was the biggest lie Axel had ever told himself, but it was better than confronting the fact that his heart had gone along with his best friend.
He still remembered the times when the fire used to be warm.
