I don't hate straight edgers, and yes, some do do it because it's what they really truly believe. That's fine.
I wasn't trying to insult you. In fact you and I talked in high school once in a while.
Everyone keeps missing the damned point.
1.) I meant Coke as in the soft drink. The beverage. I don't do drugs. I think and agree, yes, drugs are completely stupid. I used that as an example because it's minuscule. Caffeine is a drug, but everything has a mind-altering chemical in it. It just takes a lot less of caffeine to have an effect, so people call it a drug.
2.) Also, good point with the 22 years thing, but I honestly don't believe it'll happen, just like you may or may not believe it will.
3.) I referred to myself because I felt as if making decisions for myself instead of using a preset template and excuse to not drink or smoke because I felt it was holding me back. It may or may not be the key for someone else. It was just an idea.
4.) The internet isn't like straight edge at all. Internet is different. It's a virtual web of computers strung together with the IP system. It branches off into sub directories of routers for homes or large scale servers and routers for corporations. Straight Edge is a set of beliefs that's been misconstrued by most of it's members, that's why I say to break free. I'm sure lots of people, including you, are actually doing the right thing but most of the SxE pricks I've met are all about baseball bats and grenades and the whole "my dick's bigger than yours" syndrome. It's bullshit because they change their beliefs the way they see fit.
I'm sorry that I came off as attacking people personally (even though I stated 3 times that it's not a personal stab). I'm just against these individuals, and the majority of straight edge gives the, like you said, 17 people that actually believe it a bad name. And you should only take offense to any of it if the words following my, "I'm not trying to insult you, but..." is if it pertains to you. I only recall pointing out the shitty thing that the majority to Straight Edgers do.
I apologize if you misunderstood my angle. My name's Kyle Heath, for whoever doesn't know, and anyone who does know, knows I'm not out to get anyone except the assholes. Dave, I know you're not an asshole, and maybe you misunderstood my argument, so it's all good, and I have nothing against you or Amanda. I just want people to think for themselves instead of being told what's right and what's wrong. If someone can't decide that alone, then the world is completely screwed.
You're misunderstanding my angle. I'm not against straightedge. I'm against douchebags. The majority of straightedgers I've met are complete douchebags, excluding Amanda, and if you are, then you. I understand that you're just trying to defend Amanda because it seemed like an attack, but I wish you guys would just try to see it from someone else's point for once. I've seen both sides. I always try to look at as many sides as possible then come to the most logical conclusion.
