Ryutaro Morimoto POV
When it had finally sunk it that I would be starring in a Johnny’s Entertainment group, I was so enthralled. Finally, I would get to be on those big signs in the CD stores and when I would go on stage everybody would chant my name. I knew I was going to get attention too. Considering when I first debuted I was only twelve years old and had one of the deepest voices in the whole group. Way deeper than Chinen Yuuri, who was two years my senior. He had just hit puberty a few months ago and is finally loosing that girly voice of his.
When I had been asked by a reporter what had I thought turned girls on to me, I didn’t really know the answer. I had never really thought as myself as good looking as all of my seniors who weren’t exactly sore on the eyes. I had simply answered this,
“Well I suppose it’s because I’m a shotacon. Does that make sense to you? Isn’t there always something about an innocent young boy that turns girls on?”
In fact, I had never really thought about the age of my fanbase before. When results came in, everybody had been so anxious to see where they fell in the rankings and where their target age range was. I really didn’t give a damn about it. What did I care? All I knew was that I really loved singing, and that as long as people weren’t booing me off the stage, I was good. But, the offer was so tempting and I eventually gave in. I was ranked in the top percentile of “Favorite HSJ member” right under Yuto Nakajima and Chinen Yuri, which is defiantly a good thing. My target age range of fans was 16. I thought this was slightly strange, since being the youngest member, obviously I would have younger fans right?
Kei pointed me over to the more precise results along with fan feedback. Poor ol’ Kei. One of the more harder working members who was ranked in the lowest percentile. I gave him a few encouraging words and headed over to reading the fan feedback. I always loved hearing from the fans. It just makes you feel so whole inside, like there are actually people out there who appreciate your music. I skimmed through some of them and was a little surprised at some of them
“Age 15 : Ryutaro Morimoto is DEFINATLY my favorite HSJ member. Why? He is so fricken adorable! Most of my friends like the older members but I just want to lock Ryutaro up in my bedroom and never let him out!”
Slightly creepy, but endearing? I didn’t know the answer myself.
“Age 13 : RYUTARO MORIMOTO IS MY FAVORITE MEMBER DESU~ HE IS MY AGE! ^o^ HE IS CHOU CHOU KAWAII DESU NE~ DAISUKI RYUTARO-KUN!”
I didn’t know what to say about this one. Just to, tone down on the caps.
“Age 17 : My favorite HSJ member is Ryutaro Morimoto. He seems like a really sweet and funny kid, the type that you want as your little brother or a neighbor to cheer you up when you’re down. The other popular members seem so, fake, to me. Ryutaro all the way!”
My favorite feedback thus far. This one really spoke to me, like somebody actually cared about who I was as a person, not how cute I was.
I saw Yamada look over my shoulder at the three feedback letters I had selected from the bunch. He grinned holding out many letters like the first one I had looked at.
“Wait till you get older kid. There’s a lot more of those types of letters where that one came from”
*Feedback is appreciated :D*
