Amanda is invited to travela nd study in Australia and New Zealand in 2005, Amanda can join other outstanding high school students from the South Tidewater are who are eligble for People to People, and educational exploration program founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Amanda has been reccomended for the honor by a teacher, former Student Ambassador or national acedemic listing.
Amanda can experience 20 days of rewarding activities and meet the people or Australia and New Zealand all white earing high school or unversity credit. Your local delegation will represent the United States overseas, experience new cultures, and make lifelong friends. Amanda will advance as a young leader through focused activities like these:
* Connect with the culture as you face a fearsome Maori warrior abd accept the nose-to-nose gretting at a ceremonial hangi feast in New Zealand.
* Make amazing new friends as you stay with a welcoming host family, and spend a day talking and playing sprts with Australian students.
* Challenge yourself by climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, and abseiling with expert guides in the New Zealand alps.
* Delve into herritage as you explore Parliament, pitcha boomerang, learn to talk "Aussie," and buddu-up to kangaroos and koalas.
Join other interested students and their parents at a local information meeting in late November to learn more about the Student Ambassador Program.
