For anyone wondering what the hell is happening over at bad_sex:

It appears that the community creator's account (insafemode) has been hacked. bad_sex has been too. Myself, lazywriterbum and proman were all removed from moderatorship this morning. Until I saw that we'd all been removed, I assumed that I'd just done a crappy job as mod. Another account, dreamingjen was added as moderator. A post with disabled comments was made by the dreamingjen account, containing a link to what appears to be a Russian poetry site. insafemode's account now has a link to another page on the same site. If you see either (or both) posts, do not click on the links - they appear to be keyloggers. If you saw them already and did click, downloading and running Spyware Doctor (is free, and can be found at http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer.html) does remove it.

It appears that dreamingjen was hacked as well. When I looked this morning, both her account and insafemode's account each had hundreds of posts. With the exception of the Russian-site one, all posts in both journals are now gone. The post in bad_sex is not likely to have been made or approved by insafemode, as he'd have to ban himself from his own community, based on the new "rules" it outlines.

I found out from the email notification I received saying I'd been removed as a maintainer of the community, then saw the spammy post in the community. From there, I went to the userinfo where I found I wasn't the only one who'd been removed, received an email alerting me to the spammy post, and then went and looked at some userinfos and journals.

Because all the rest of us mods have been removed, there is currently little we can do at all. I doubt we can post a warning/notice directly to the community as I suspect that moderated posting has been turned on to prevent that very thing. I have, however, reported the issue to LJ abuse. I don't know what (if anything) they can do on my say-so, and probably need to contact insafemode directly, as he is the community owner.

Link to another user who had the same hijacking issue and details his? her? saga of it (link from lazywriterbum): http://copperbadge.livejournal.com/1787663.html#cutid1

If I hear back from lj abuse/support or have any further updates, I'll post publicly again.
