In my case, a stubborn will to live and the fact that I know people need me yet. Good feelings, not malice-laced ones. Yeah, I wanna kick the crap out of the people responsible for doing this to me, but I also have things I want to protect.

Dunno the full reasons, but my best guess is because I'm one of the few people that can stop some people from taking over my world. This thing limits my powers besides being a royal pain-literally.
