Because she was carefree, happy, cheerful. The easiest thing for them to say was "she doesn't understand." "One day she'll understand better."
And that's all they ever said, but even years later, the smile never disappeared from her face. One of them asked her what her life was like, and the girl was silent. She smiled her usual smile and replied " It's like anybody's life, except it belongs to me." They were silent for a minute and tried to ask her more questions about her personal life. She didn't respond with full answers and the smile never disappeared. The person got feed up with her smiles and smacked her across the face.
She didn't respond for a minute, she just held onto her red cheek. She stood up, glaring down at the person, slowly she began to talk...
" This life is my own, how I spend it..does not concern you. If I smile, it's because I want to. It's the brightest thing I can do, I do understand, I've lived my own problems, and I don't care if you've got it worse then me. Go life your own life, I don't care about it. I don't need your pushy little asses to ruin my life. Alright? So if you wouldn't mind. Get the fuck out of here."
The person silently left, and the girls smile soon returned as she sat down watching the falling autumn leafs, with only a slight chill in the air.
