Recently I went to a concert called Autumn Blaze. Barlowgirl was there and they performed one of their songs called "I Believe in Love." Now I was never really struck by the beauty of the words in this song. But then the lead singer told us the story of how this song originated.
There were these people who went to Auschwitz, an old Nazi death camp. And written on the wall, in the concrete, were the words:
"I believe in the sun, even when it's not shining,
I believe in love, even when I don't feel it,
And I believe in God, even when he is silent."
How beautiful is that? And how haunting?
If these people, who were beaten, starved, and gassed, can still believe in God and his awesome love, how much more can I?
This really cut me to the heart, and I thought I'd share it, because it's just so lovely.
