i'm finally living how i want to live. one of my biggest issues with UNH was that i was there for music but i felt less involved in it by being stranded there. but its everywhere here and there are so many good opportunites and i'm so excited about it and everyone i meet is so excited about it, which makes me even more excited to the point where i write really horrible run-on sentences.
i wish that i wrote in this more frequently because i feel like i'm going to forget about half of the cool things i do. since i've been here i've been to four shows. most notably, anthony green/personL/good old war, which i wrote a review for that will be published in the music magazine at northeastern. annnd the surprise free kooks show that eddie and i happened upon while walking down newbury street a few weeks ago. i won a ticket to see girl talk next week by playing name that tune. within the next month i'm going to see against me!, minus the bear, and hopefully lovedrug. one of my roommates has band practice in our apartment every friday night which has been really cool because half the kids in our building end up stopping by to check it out. i got a job at a theater on campus doing sound (my homework). we've had some gatherings in the apartment with some really good kids that have been fun. last weekend we hosted a sleep well/radio fix (both bands you should check out) fiesta. we sang the sweater song and my american heart really obnoxiously from the roof and i ate over half a pound of gummy bears. sunday my mom came to visit and we had a really good time. the distance has been good for us i think. monday molly made a short lived but sweet appearance. i dedicated the rest of my week to trying to get un-sick and rebuild my music collection after the tragic loss of my mp3 player :(. i spent the majority of my weekend on the couch watching freddy krueger movies with nate. i think i'm kind of almost better? i realized how much i love pesto and used music stores. i'm not as stressed out about school as i was last year. i've done a ton of aimless wondering and talked to a lot of interesting people but i do feel kind of lonely sometimes. i don't really have anyone that i'm really close to around all the time and that's weird for me. i haven't found anyone i can really talk to the way i could talk to my friends in new haven. i know i haven't been here that long but there's still a definite void that i'd rather not have. either way, everything is looking up so hopefully that will come together for me too.
sorry this was so long winded. i've just been enjoying reading about what all my friends in livejournal land have been up to. it seems like big things are happening for everyone, so i thought i'd contribute.
