wow this has been awhile...but here's how my vacation went
Day 1: flew to florida through the nor'easter. Worst flight ever. Florida was muggy as hell. Waited in the airport food court for over an hour and then waited at the shuttle depot for another 35 minutes. Traffic was terrible at the port because 3 cruise ships were leaving all around the same time. Barlow and Tomlinson had already hit up 2 bars on the boat and were drunk by the time we met up with them. Ate a shit load of food at the buffet and did some lifeboat drill which sucked. Barlow didn't have his luggage until 9pm and he let the world know how he felt about it. Most of the day consisted of hanging at the pool bar and wondering around the boat. Eli missed dinner by an hour because of his watch being off and he blamed the crew for it. "You...shotty job"
Day 2: Freeport. Samantha did her thing with the dolphins. Eli, Andrea, Roller, Sara, Dianna, and Myself all went to the beach. Crystal fucking blue water. Only Eli and I went in but whatever. The wind kinda sucked so we headed to the shops. Some dude tried to sell me and Eli coke and we drank pina coloda's out of coconuts. Got back to Barlow and Tomlinson napping from being drunk. Ate dinner in the dining room instead of buffet for the first time. Really good food and service.
Day 3: Nassau. Andrea, Chris, Dianna, and Myself all went snorkling at 8:30am. Did some shopping in the town. Took a nap. At dinner and watch John Barlow do Frank Sinatra drunk at Karoke. "Can i get som fucking sound up here?" "Yeah you clap for me cuz i'm the best".
They had a party on the deck but it wasn't all that great since alot of the passengers were off the boat and spending their time on the island. We decided to stay on the boat that night since everything in town closed up around 6.
Day 4: Day at sea. This day was a really laid back day. We bought pictures and lounged around. We tried to eat dinner as the entire group but for some reason Andrea and Chris decided to not show up and get shitty room service food. Fun times were had at this dinner most to the expense of John Barlow as we convinced the servers that John and Shaun were on their honeymoon. I won $200 in the casino and Samantha's face swelled up like she went 12 rounds with a golden gloves champ.
Day 5: Departed the boat. Said our goodbyes to John and Shaun then proceeded to wait around for another 35-40 minutes for Andrea and Chris to get cleared through customs. Headed to the hotel and then headed to Universal Studios. Eli and Sam stayed back due to illnesses. Andrea, Chris and I got soaked on every water ride and Dianna and Sara laughed at us. The Spiderman ride was the coolest ride in the park. Ate dinner at the Olive Garden. Chris Roller ordered Chicken Fingers and French Fries.
Day 6: coming home. Flight wasn't near as bad as on the way there. Except there was a bratty kid crying for almost the entire first half of it. Devito picked us up so that ruled.
i learned a few things from this trip.
1. i won't be doing a cruise for like 10 years. Not because i didn't have a good time but i like doing things on my time not someone elses schedule.
2. I won't take the responsibility of organizing a trip for a group again. There was too much drama involved.
3. I might not ever include certain friends in stuff like this again. Courtesy went on the window on this trip. Between not showing up to a single thing on time or spending 80% of the trip away from the group/ in your room. This was booked as a group vacation. I understand spending time alone with your s/o but don't make it quite clear that all i did was the do the dirty work in booking your own personal vacation.
4. My next serious vacation will most likely just be with Dianna. We're talking about doing Hawaii next year during her spring break. I'd love to have some friends come but after this past trip and some of the blantant disrespect to the group as a whole i think i just want to avoid the possibility of that happening all together.
