Best Episode?
Empire Magazine has a feature on the best 50 TV shows ever. I'm going through them from 50 to 1.
Life on Mars is at no 40. This may be a bit low for my taste (lower than ST:TNG, for instance), but okay. At least it's featured. :-)
But I really do disagree with their 'best episode' selection. Episode 6 of the first series? That's the weakest of that series! Even most series 2 episodes are better than that. I could have understood them selecting the very first episode, or episode 4 or 7 from the first series, or even episode 2 or 8 from the second. But not s1ep6. It's just *not that good*.
EDIT: Hee, Spaced is placed higher than Doctor Who, Heroes, Firefly, and new Battlestar Galactica. Unfortunately, it's also placed higher than Blackaddder (and so are all those other series. I don't necessarily agree with this kind of placement...
EDIT AGAIN: The Simpsons and BTVS as numbers one and two respectively? I don't think so. I like the Simpsons on occasion and I love BTVS, but several of the preceding 48 shows mentioned are just better than them.
And no Journeyman. This isn't surprising, but it does make me sad. :-(
