Plot Bunnies
Time Crash was loads of cracky fun, but it doesn't sit as well within continuity as the Pudsey Cutaway did. Still, Stephen Moffat has to start being very, very careful. People might start expecting things from him...
And now on to the actual reason of my post. To put down some plotbunnies so that I won't forget about them.
First one, a crossover between Torchwood and Journeyman: Dan Vasser runs into Jack back in the seventies, after Jack came to San Francisco to investigate rumours of a man and a woman walking aroung claiming to be time-travellers. Later, Jack calls Dan in 2007.
There's quite a lot of potential here for mind-bending time-travel shenanigans, but I haven't quite managed to work out *why* Dan would meet up with Jack, or what exactly they would have to say to each other. Could be that Dan helps Jack out of a bit of a dip (got to be depressing that after having waited for nearly a century, the Doctor that shows up is one that doesn't know you), but what can Jack do for Dan? This is especially frustrating since the two versions of time-travel in the shows aren't really that compatible. There's a way around that, but that would just lead to loads and loads of technobabble.
The same problem happens if I want to cross things over with Old School Who or the Sarah Jane adventures, for instance with Dan meeting Sarah and the Fourth Doctor at some point in the past, and then running into the older Sarah at a journalism convention or something.
Second, (or third depending on how you count the above) is just a plain Who fic, but with an unusual pairing. Recently, on a post on fanficrants fandom_me mentioned that she'd love to see a Shakespeare/Reinette pairing. I've been having a few ideas how that could work out, and it basically involves Shakespeare travelling with a younger version of the Doctor to a version of Reinette who is older than 37.
But this would require me to know a)more about Shakespeare b)more about the Fourth Doctor and c) more about Madame the Pompadour than I can get in a few hours or even days of research, which I don't even have time for. So.... anybody interested?
