I really don't know where this came from. It has no title and no real plot.

He doesn’t quite know who slips first, him or her, but he guesses it doesn’t really matter.

Her lips are soft and she’s shorter than him and she doesn’t feel like she’s going to break and her hair is soft and smooth under his fingers and she tastes like candy.

They’re standing in the kitchen when it happens, the worst possible place in the entire universe, but it makes sense. They don’t hang out, at least not by themselves, and the only place they’re bound to run into each other is the kitchen - the neutral area where everyone’s welcome.

He comes in from the pool house and sees her standing there, frown on her face, arms folded across her stomach and he asks if she’s ok.

It’s a general greeting, he doesn’t really mean it and she probably knows that, but she gives him a look and then words are pouring out of her mouth; love, lust, trust, hope, fear, uncertainty, abandonment, confusion, frustration.

It’s all the things he’s been thinking, it’s all the things that keep him up at night.

They’re thinking about other people, but they’re thinking the same things.

They’re supposed to love me, why are they with them?

Marissa’s supposed to love him, but she’s off with Oliver.

Seth’s supposed to love her, but he’s dating Anna.

He understands her completely and she blinks at him, then smiles.

He’s not completely certain who slips, but he’s pretty sure it’s him because he remembers her tensing a bit when their lips touch, but then she puts one arm around his neck as her other hand clutches at his arm and she’s kissing him back.

It doesn’t matter who slips first, they’re both guilty of the sin.

It doesn’t last long and when they pull away, she doesn’t say anything, so he mumbles out an apology and backs away.

She’s soft and warm and she’s a good kisser and she has a really nice rack, but she’s still Seth’s. He may be dating Anna right now, but there are rules.

He says he’ll never tell Seth and she breathes a relieved thank you and then he’s out the door again.
