The Death of Bebop and Subsequent Adventuring.

Alas, I mourn. I've owned my car for just under a year and put about 36,000 miles on it in that time. I was giving a girl a ride home a couple weeks back when she asked me the name of my car; I said it didn't have one. When she insisted that this was unacceptable I responded "alright, then his name is Bebop."
Tonight, just after filling up my tank, I was headed over to pick up Lindsay to go see Genevieves' play. I stopped at the red light and said to the two people who had been in front of me "haha suckers, turn left, I shall go straight." It turns out I was the sucker. When the light turned green, I noticed two things: a left green arrow showed that the objects of my derision would be going at the same time as me, and a pedestrian on a bicycle across the street was about to cross the street but was aborted by our green lights. About that time, I was a quarter through the intersection and saw a rather swift movement out of the corner of my eye. This was quickly followed by impact. Someone had just run a red light and slammed into the front drivers' side of Bebop.
I sat in shock and heard said driver exit her vehicle and ask after my health. I had some chest pain from getting turned around by the crash, but that was it. I got out and realized I couldn't see, so I had to go back in the car and find my glasses which had flown off my face. Not being able to see, this took a rather exhorbitant amount of time.
The lady who hit me didn't speak great English, but she insisted she had a green light. The girl on the bike was on her cell phone so we went over and asked if she had called the police; she responded in the affirmative. At this point, one of the people who had been driving next to me came by to provide his eye witness account. Other stuff happened, I don't particularly feel like writing about: paperwork and such. The officer was kind of a prick. The driver witnesses and the bike lady came and gave statements to the police officer as did I. This time the lady who hit me, said to the officer she had a yellow light; I think she was intimidated by the other witnesses and rightly so for the officer asked is she was sure because he had two witnesses who said she had run a red light. In this I was quite fortunate.
So tomorrow I will call my insurance company and begin the processes of replacing Bebop. Not easy seeing as the value of my car has doubled since I bought it despite all the mileage (thanks to gas prices). So freshly named and fueled. I had just had some work done on him to get him fixed. I hope I can get refunded for that. Goodbye Bebop. You were the best car I ever owned.
The tow guy was cool; he dropped me off, and Lindsay and I headed out to try and see the play. At this point, time was an issue. We parked with 11 minutes until the show started. I didn't really expect to make it at this juncture, but we figured we'd find out how to get there so we could make it next week. We found the building, after an hour of walking around campus. It was a good walk, we tried to think of as many "H" words as we could to try and jug Lindsay's memory as to the name of the building the play was showing at. It actually worked, but it took a good half hour to do so.
So we got there at about intermission time. We decided to wait for the play to get out so we could see Squid (the vieve). We talked on our respective cellular devices to pass the time. Afterward, we went to the B&O and enjoyed a tasty meal with Vaginavieve, Nate, and some of their contemporaries.
Lindsay gave me a ride home, and I wait for the morrow to bring us further adventures as we retrieve my stuff from my car, wage war with a dealership in the name of Wal-Mart, and generally wreak havoc throughout the greater Seattle area.
