I don't think Sam's hand was near Benny's pulse point during the handshake for him to detect the missing beat, but I thought about the skin temperature too. Although I felt it's a bit of a stretch since it never came up before. Surely if the vampires are so easy to detect, their victims would get the clue something was not right as soon as their skin came into contact with the vamps. But then again, maybe Sam is hyper vigilant than most people on account of being a hunter for so long.
I'm very interested in seeing what season 8 has in store. I see glimpses of richer story being told, and I keep my fingers crossed. *g*
I don't think SPN writers know how to write good female characters while male characters are usually quite good, apart from Castiel imho but that's very subjective as I don't like him. :)
