World Of Warcraft: Another Vice of Gen X

Oct 23, 2006 00:55

There's been an onslaught of MMORPG fan sites that have been trying to capitalize on all things gaming. Guides, reviews, tips, warnings, patches, and videos are constantly posted to sites like www.warcraftunderground.com. It's a World of Warcraft fan site that gives you all of the information you need to waste all of your time playing your life away in a virtual world of cross-dressing ogres and barbaric goat-men. Some of the guys I work with have been sucked into the WoW lifestyle. One guy goes on 3-5hrs of sleep a night because he's up 'til 2 or 3am playing the game and then has to get up for work around 6am. Every once and a while it's alright to immerse yourself in a game, but I believe in moderation in all things. At least there are services which will "level" characters up for users, for a fee, so you don't have to waste months just trying to get enough game strength to breathe fire on a rabid demon-hamster and keep it from snatching your enchanted primate sword of truth.

Even though I digress, Warcraft underground is pretty well designed. A few ads here and there but it offers good information for the casual WoW gamer.
