ok listen all of you i want to make music i'm sick of not so here we go...
i want to start a serious band that deals with political and personal shit and in a way that isn't just the same old crap
some of the bands i like that have the same kind of mood as what i'm talking about: descapricidos, modest mouse, blond redhead, dead kennedys, bright eyes, tom waits, ani difranco, neurosis, folky beck stuff, sleater kinney, zegota, bob dylan( blood on the tracks album and some other stuff), babes in toyland, bikini kill, john frusciante, melvins (not the metalish stuff), rainer maria, radio head (mostly later stuff) and some talib kweli, dead prez and dj shadow
if you can see what all of these different groups have in common maybe you'll know what mood i'm talking about
i refuse to sound like anyone or copy used patterns or pay attention to stupid rules, scales and chord progressions in music, its all made up anyways... and if thats what constitues music then fuck music i'll make noise and sound
i like playing piano alot i'm not very good yet but fuck it
i play guitar and bass and fuck around with other instruments
i'm a better composer then i am player of music but oh well
i like to scream or sing as best as i can (sense my vioce often doesn't like to hit notes exactly)
i have a drummer lined up
i like to use samples to do the talking for me sometimes
i like epic long and creative shit i don't like "pop sense-ability" and lot of times when people talk about catchy hooks it means crap
i am learning how to modify and make instruments and once i get better i want to use that as well
i refuse to be a part of a scene or get into trendy shit and if something offends people as long as its for the right reason i'm perfectly content with that
