Got there at 11:45, we were third in line. (Amber and Me) and we talked to the people who were in front of us for a bit, they were nice, old, but nice. They'd gone to a few other shows, and were like following them around.
About 30 or so minutes later, a girl gets out of a taxi cab and says hello--and guess what? She has a british accent!
Her name's Kat, and so we pretty much hung out with her for the entire day because she was so great. She's from a place like 20 miles from Bristol, and is also following around Placebo. She's met Brian a few times too, (she'd seen them 40 times!) so yea, made great friends with her.
Okay, so while we were sitting in line, and it was like about 3:30ish at this point (more people are in line as well, but we don't really talk to them) and a taxi comes by and in it is Stefan!
See, the thing is about the Gothic Theatre, is that it's sorta easy to get to the back entrance, I mean, it's Not Really blocked off, so a few of us went back there but Stefan was already going to the building so I went back in line.
Around 4ish, guess who is walking the opposite way of the line? Brian & Stefan and some guy (friend of brians? security? both probably) so me and Amber (and some other people) sort of follow them to this place called the Spicy Pickle
Brian said hi to me, and me, Amber, and the other girls talked to Stefan for a bit, but I didn't really want to bother them that much (already felt stupid for following them) so me and Amber left, but the girls I think stayed, but Brian didn't look all too happy so I think me and Amber made the right decision.
All right, so later, (about 5ish) Kat wanted to get something from Starbucks (Starbucks was right next to the Spicey Pickle, but Brian and Stefan had already come back, but they had went to the crosswalk to smoke which we DID NOT KNOW) So of course we passed them again. I marched up to Brian and asked for a hug, which he said yes, so Amber asked for one too, which he actually was really nice this time. He actually liked hugged, it wasn't like a light tap, SO SO brilliant.I also asked for a picture but he said maybe later, and really, I don't blame him, cause yea, he probably thought we were stalking him at this point.
(Oh, Justin from She Wants Revenge was there too. . but umm, we sorta didn't acknowledge him)
So after the Starbucks run they had left (probably good because I think there were people behind us)
And then around 5:30 (Not entirely sure, because I didn't have a watch) Amber went to go check on the car (that was parked behind the theatre) Brian and Stefan come out and start taking pictures of the marquee. Now this was totally not my fault I was just sitting there and Brian waved to me and Kat, so I smiled and waved back.
And that was all before the concert.
Around 7:15, they let us in. And I was the FIRST one in, ran to the front of the area and was on the left, (I would be right in front of Brian when they played later) Plus there was the most adorable Mini Molko behind me.
They played some really crappy soul music while setting up for the DJ, who was okay, I guess. I mean, I'm not a very techno person so. . . .
She Wants Revenge was all right, except I think they all knew that the majority was there for Placebo.
Finally at 10:30 Placebo took the stage! (really only Brian pics because Stefan was so far, and Steve was like always hidden) Also, these are the best ones I took with Courtney's picture phone, it died 4 songs in.
Brian was so nice! He talked to us 4 times, after 3 songs in, said hi to us in Denver Colorado (hehe, Englewood, but same difference), but everyone screamed so I sorta missed the rest. Then before Special K, he said that something "magical" would happen, and that we would know what to do. (which of course we did, everyone sang the ba-da-bum-etc part) and then in the near end of The Bitter End he introduced the band. And of course, at the end (20 Years) they all said thank you and Steve threw his drumsticks into the audience.
Amber bought a tote bag, and should be getting a setlist since Kat promised to send us one (since she's met the guy that actually makes them up, and he's going to send her copies which in turn she will give to us) We exchanged phone numbers and emails so yea, so fucking awesome.
Best night ever.
