QOTD: What happened to LiveJournal?
I know I haven't been around for awhile, but man, has it gotten bad! It's my understanding that the original programmer grew up at some point and got a life, and since there wasn't much money in this he decided to cash out. In the meantime, due to a fluke of translation, the site became intensely popular in Russia. As with all popular things in Russia, the government sought to immediately destroy it. Apparently it's been successful in this aim, by harassing its users, saddling us with intrusive ads, making the site purposely sluggish and slow, and failing to make improvements of any significance.
It's a shame, really.
So, perhaps the question should be: where has the red-blooded American blogging community gone? Don't tell me Facebook or Twitter. Those aren't for brooding nerdy-types with glasses and endless thoughts of suicide. Seriously, where are MY people? Get me out of here!
