Cloudy tuesday... AGAIN... funny how whenever i have morning classes, it'll turn cloudy, if not rainy. Namely on tuesdays and thursdays when i end school at 1030 in the morning... it's been on going for the past 2 weeks. Hoping to get a nice tann after a boring hour and a half in the stuffy class room, only to fall short of having it rain on my parade. Literally.
On the topic of car buying, the long weekend was spent showroom shopping, an entire afternoon. Having a physical feel of the cars that i've had my eye on. Asking about prices, deals, insurance, loans and what nots. There's basically nothing going on in that little head on my shoulders except the fact of getting a car. Liken to that of an automobile junkie-zombie. Dreaming to drive a car of my own, imagining how i would drive and all. Everything else is put to an abrupt halt. The only words in running around in my head are Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda... ha ahaa i'm going insane! and i shall not stop till i actually get what i want!
Even my mum's gotten the vibe from me. She too is helluva excited, only that she has got the price to worry about, and handling my dad. He's REALLY adamant on making me wait till he comes back (which he said would "HOPEFULLY be in june", BAH! i'm predicting that he won't be back till August or worse, END OF THE YEAR!), prolly so that he can play 'man of the house and family'. However, after a dead serious talk with him about it, my mum had second thoughts. It's really funny cos he had an overall budget of 80K - 90K. When asked if he actually had that much of money, he replied saying that we could take a loan. Which would actually be taken under my mum's name as he's working overseas and he has a very bad habit of casually forgetting to wire money over. Be it expenses or payment for his credit card bills. That was when my mum freaked. Whilst touring the showrooms she mentioned certain models that "she could afford". So, cross my fingers, i'd be able to finally get to own a car WITHOUT the presence of my dad.
Here are the models that "she could afford";
The Honda Civic @ a whopping S$71,000
The Mitsubishi Colt Plus @ a 'meager' S$69,000
The Toyota Corolla Altis @ an 'affordable' S$65,000
My money's on the Colt. Even my mother's taken a liking to it. Though the Altis would seem like a better choice, price-wise as it's a very affordable and dependable car. So i'm a MAMA'S BOY, BITE ME. If she's paying for my car, i'd be anything she wants me to be!
Final approval would go to my father. Though with my power of persuasion and my 'questionable mind-manipulation skills', may not be the case. Till then one can only WAIT and DREAM...
