"I've been rolling some ideas around in my head for about a month now, and the best I could come up with is on the bottom of my profile, it says "I am determined to be better everyday." Let me clarify:
I am determined to be a better son... I am determined to be a better brother... I am determined to be a better cousin... I am determined to be a better nephew... I am determined to be a better Grandson... I am determined to be a better Godson... I am determined to be a better Godfather... I am determined to be a better friend... I am determined to be a better boyfriend... I am determined to be a better role-model... I am determined to be a better employee... I am determined to be a better neighbor... I am determined to be a better stranger... I am determined to be a better student...
The reason for the three dots on the end, is because they are all incomplete statements. I want to complete them all together, so here's how they all end; "everyday." I'm not looking to better myself and to be content at that point, but I wish to continue to get better every day. Also, this list is not set in stone, because I may not have a relationship that fits with one of the statements on the list. However, the list is also not complete for my life, I will be determined to be a better husband, a better father, a better employer (if necessary), a better teacher (if necessary), a better uncle, a better brother-in-law, a better son-in-law, a better father-in-law, and a better grandfather.
Here's how I plan on doing it:
I am determined to be a better listener... I am determined to be more motivated... I am determined to be more caring... I am determined to be more loving... I am determined to be more considerate... I am determined to have less of an ego... I am determined to be less selfish... I am determined to be less lustful... I am determined to be more honest... I am determined to be more faithful... I am determined to be more compassionate... I am determined to be, generally, nicer... I am determined to be more light-hearted... I am determined to be more tender-hearted... I am determined to be more focused... I am determined to be a better communicator... I am determined to be stronger in my convictions... I am determined to be more tolerant... I am determined to be more open-minded... I am determined to be more aware... I am determined to gossip less... I am determined to be more respectful... I am determined to have more respect for myself... I am determined to have less pride (male and regular kind)... I am determined to laugh more... I am determined to allow (if necessary) myself to cry more... I am determined to control my anger... I am determined to control my tongue... I am determined to learn something... I am determined to teach something... I am determined to be in my bible...
Morning Sunshine- I was doing that crazy thing us Christians call praying last night and this morning, and one of the things that I remember most was feeling determined to accomplish whatever is I need to do. I laughed right then and there when it happend(yes, laughing in prayer is OK, God DOES have a sense of humor)because all I could think of was your determined list. And then that snowballed into thinking about how determined you are, and how that's going to get you through all of this..... Yeah, I don't know that that made any sense at all, I hope it did. :) I think all I"m really trying to say is, Keep that list of "determined" in your head, it will make you stronger.
