Friday: 101 Guide to the Instruments of the Orchestra
This one was really fun. I have no idea where all the little kids came from, but they were so cute! Like there was this boy who ran up on stage during one of the Q&A segments and shouted, "Double Bass!" when the emcee asked what his name was. And there was this really adorable little girl who sang the bass line for Canon in D.
Sunday: Air on an A String
I like how we got to play with very interesting people. Sarah's arrangement of "Brand New Breeze" was really awesome. Which is a bit sad because they got her name wrong in the programme booklet. Anyway after the concert there was this lady who approached us and told Sarah that she played really, really well and was asking if we would be performing anywhere else. Which is a bit, er, surreal. But it probably means that in order to succeed as a string quartet you need an extremely good first violinist and everyone else can... mime. :D :D :D
Oh yes. My bow! I can't seem to tighten my bow! This is a disaster. I've already told my mom that I'll need to get a real viola bow soon but a good one won't be cheap. And just after I spent quite a fair bit of money on a new laptop.
