Happy Birthday Me :)
Feeling very very very loved and very very very blessed.
Started with a card from 大姐
And a card from the in-laws.
Then a present and card from the bestie.
Then a card from the husband last night.
His birthday wishes first thing in the morning.
The bestie's message that sat on the phone over night.
The influx of messages from my sisters and aunt.
The messages from close friends, old friends, ex-colleagues, current colleagues...
The phonecalls from the parents-in-laws, brother-in-law & gf...
An e-mail from the boss! Who copied the whole team in his e-mail, resulting in an influx of well wishes from the team I have come to really like.
An extremely surprised delivery of gift from the buddy based in Singapore. The gift got delivered to my office. I thought it was the husband. When I saw the card, I cried. We used to play 标准情人 with each other. Surprise gifts, love letters, notes...when I message her, she replied, "It's been too long since I gave u surprises!"
Then the phonecall from the parents which resulted in a fresh wave of tears. See why I shouldn't work on my birthday? I cry more when happy and touched.
Then the husband picked me up from work to go to dinner.
I opened the passenger seat door to find a huge bouquet of roses (48) on my seat.
And then a dinner at Shira Nui - a tasting plate of 5 dishes (chicken, sesame flavoured tofu, fried oyster with eggplant, enoki mushroom in broth and egg-wrapped eel), beef tataki salad and the crispy chicken sushi and a dessert of chilled watermelon ice crush with vanilla mousse, kiwifruit ice-cream, fruits and jelly. Yummy satisfying japanese food with the husband = BLISS.
Tonight, towards the end of 14/12/2012, Melbourne time, I sit at my computer, Bullet lying beside me on her day-bed, husband in bed with Pistol, I count my blessings, for all the loved ones in my life. I count my blessings for all the people who thought about me today and made the effort to wish me well. I count my blessings for having you in my life who have stood by me over the last 16 years, you know who you are by the simple maths. I count my blessings for all the close friendships I have forged over the years that stood the test of time and distance. I count my blessings for the love of my family.
I count my blessing for the family unit I now call my own - you and me and the babies. Thank you for loving me.
