the cheese on my pasta

Mar 20, 2015 00:19

my life lay before me
bits and pieces i see
that i am perfectly happy
w the downhill spiraling
i learnt to be free
to want to see your face before me
telling me the bits and pieces i see
is what it should be.

i have waited till i was
Accustomed
to
Anticipation and
Expectancy
a little longer becomes
Fine
with Me.

i backtracked and saw how the world came to be
and realised how very wrong i was to assume our ways
was what is has always been

between you and me
the past and the future
like fallen dictators
get em' head out of the gutter because
the present defines, creates, edifies.
i believe in the uphill journey we will create and
the mountains we will climb.

just a little longer, it won't be strange.
just a little more, i'll be home.

Home.
To your simplification,
ease of manners,
prayers before meals,
smiles with disappearing eyes.

Home.
To your hand on mine,
car doors opening,
table neatly laid,
acts of service.

I leaned my body against yours,
My fatigue is no longer rightfully mine
For you
Cradled my head in your arms,
Ran your fingers through my hair,
Rubbed your palms softly against my arms -

Because if "I love you" isn't timely yet
I'll just like to say,
thank you.
for being the cheese on my pasta,
my little paradise.
