(no subject)
soooooooooooo i was under the impression that matt and i can just go to the court house and bing, bang boom. we have our marriage license and certificate. nope... sorry it doesn't work that way. i found out TODAY that we have to go get the license and have that for 24 hrs before we can get married. then the court house will sign it and send it out. about a month later we will get the marriage certificate (which... fyi... isn't the real one. its a photo copy).
so yeah i have decided that the universe needs to come up with little brochures for when certain things happen. such as...
"CONGRATZ! You are (pregnant, getting married, or buying a house) or
So sorry to hear that you (have cancer *or any such illnesses grouped in the same category*, about to face a great loss, or you are about to die)...
here are a few things you will need to know..." and then it lists a little bit about everything you will need to know about those situations. and they get sent in the mail the day after you find out what ever it is. b/c this i had no idea about. i thought we could just got up there and say "hey... we want to get married. here is some money." but no... there all sorts of red tap you have to go through first.
