Arthur had trained his eyes on the stage, losing himself in the play during the first act, because if he looked at Alfred, he would never stop looking

That was such a cute line. :3
Also: Wow. That is FANTASTIC. And the first scene moved me to tears. (God I am such a sap.)
I am so jealous of the person this is for. So jealous.

Arthur was being cavity-inducingly sweet all throughout the Romeo and Juliet scene. Full on dere mode XD

Chibi!America just gets to everyone, I think. I'm so glad that scene worked for you - I was a little worried that the sonnet Arthur quotes might be a tat creepy when you consider the subject of Shakespeare's sonnets, but Chibi!America came to the rescue and reached into the very heart of it all.

snappy8000's prompt inspired this, but this fic is written for everyone at usxuk and anyone who loves the pair. So no need to be jealous! ^^~

♥ Thank you so much for reading! I do hope you'll enjoy the last part of this when I find time to get it out.

I'm surprised Alfred didn't develop diabetes there and then. x3

Yes I totally agree, Chibi!America works so well, and I think if it wasn't Chibi!America, England's sonnet quotes would have sounded creepier XD Oh Shakespeare, why you...

That overjoys me so much! X3 thankyou!
And also I do look forward to that! Twas a pleasure to read!

That's because Alfred's really romantic at heart. I think he really likes all his Hollywood happy endings. Plus, he's all sleepy and tired, but Arthur's there and not being all gruff and lecture-ish, and Alfred's just.. comfortable, you know?

I love the two of them just a little too much, I think~

I laughed really hard when I remembered that a good 126 of them are written towards the "Fair Youth," especially when they started off all "GET MARRIED" and then became increasingly more intimate XD I wonder what Arthur really thought of them.

Beautiful. Somehow, for me, the most captivating quote was "Et tu, Brute?". XD

I really adore how this was written, how you can see their relationship progress from the innocence of the 1600s to the sheer romance of the present day. :D And your Shakespearean quotes are simply perfect for every part. :)

There was no question that the play for the Revolution would be Julius Caesar. The premise of it fits Arthur so well I couldn't fit in "beware the ides of March" anywhere, but "Et tu, Brute" worked fabulously XD

Their long, obstacle-filled relationship is why I love US/UK so much. I'm glad you think the Shakespeare in each section worked well - it took me such a long time and a lot of re-reading of scripts to figure them all out!

Thank you for reading! ♥ I do hope you'll like the last section of this fic just as much when I get it out.

They spend so long apart, but it's nice to see them together again after all that time of hurt and heartbreak. And the Shakespeare somehow ties it all together so wonderfully.

It's a little frustrating, really, to see how close they grow and then break apart time and again throughout history. But that's exactly why I love the two of them together, and probably why this fic decided to break away from me to include the first three sections rather than just pure hand-holding fluff. And Shakespeare really is universal - it's amazing all the connections you can make if you poke around his plays a bit.

♥ Thank you for reading! One last scene is stuck in my head for this fic, and I hope you'll enjoy that one as well when I have it completed.

That was amazing! Sweet and full of heart and soul. And Chibimerica~ <3

It's always nice to step back from the more sappy, romantic, smutty fanfictions involving Arthur and Alfred (though God only knows I love those to death) and read a fanfiction about something as simple as their lasting relationship throughout the years, and Shakespere just seems to complete it.

Excellent work! I'm definitely adding this one to my memories! <3

Thank you so much - I'm flattered (and really happy!) that you enjoyed this fic enough to put it in your memories. In between all the fanservice and doujinshi we have of the pair, it's easy to forget just how long a history they have with each other, and how it all adds up to make them the Alfred and Arthur we all love. Shakespeare truly was a genius, wasn't he? His plays are pretty universal in their themes.

♥ Thank you for reading and commenting, and I hope you'll enjoy the sequel as much as you liked this part.

Dude, no. This is PERFECT. And I love how you made Arthur "mature" here (after a fashion, I mean, he finally accepted Alfred as now -- it's pretty rare to see this or to read this mentioned in fics, i think). I also love how you wrote their interactions, especially during that trench thing.. oh Iggy you *were* always a little loose with your screws, weren't you? xD; lol
I'm also thrilled that almost everything quoted here I've already read. 8D (except for the sonnets)
Waah the last linesss. So fitting. They make me swoon~ XD
Brilliant job!! <3

XD Hey you. Your second comment amuses me so much. I'm friending you - I hope that's okay!

I am so, so glad someone else enjoyed that! Too often Arthur is depicted in fandom as someone who's still pining over the Alfred of the past, and as much as I enjoy those fanworks, I imagine that Arthur, being the intelligent person that he is, would be able to accept both his feelings for Alfred and Alfred as he is in that 200+ years since the UST all started. It'll just take something spectacular to get them to admit it to each other. Boys

Still, slightly nutcasey England was fun to write XD He was a brash pirate back in the day, after all~

Shakespeare is awesome XD Incidentally, I picked all the plays I've read myself, except for that sonnet. The R&J dialogues worked out really well for them, I was amazed.

Your comments always make me so happy ♥ Thank you! I hope you'll enjoy the last part too =D

XD It's more than okay. May I say I feel honored? XDD
Indeed. Boys. LMFAO -- UST. HAHAHAHA
It's like the fairies inspired Shakespeare to write it for the future romance of Iggy and Alfie~ (ooh plot bunneh? 8D)
