Yes, my phobia of spiders is not at all rational. Pictures of spiders: they genuinely freak me the fuck out. I can close my eyes and imagine spiders and that scares the fuck out of me too.
If you're not arachnophobic, I'm going to disregard your opinion when you say that a picture of one is nothing to freak out over (paired with your horrendous icon close up of spider eyes).
Spiders are a really common phobia. I don't think you necessarily SHOULDN'T EVER POST A PICTURE because dictating what people can and can't do is rude and controlling, but if it occurs to you that people are afraid of spiders (and, you know, not just in a 'omg ew a spider' way) maybe you should just not use the picture instead of apologising. I know that can be taken different ways by different people, but to me the "apology" rang really false and shallow, like you don't really care that much.

Enough to have panic attacks and freak out and be paralysed with fear and cry like a baby. /shudders
