Maurice Sendak (factoid, random)
Well, I discovered something today that pleases me greatly.
Maurice Sendak who's book 'Into the Night Kitchen' I loved deeply as a child - it is the first book I remember well - is gay.
Is it particularly important in the grand scheme of things? No. But it's nice to see something of my world out in the 'real' world. I've complianed before about the invisibility of gay people (and trans etc) in the world as illumianted and reflected by media and the arrival of things like Torchwood, the changes in Dr. Who and stuff like this (a child's author openly gay OMG!) suggest all hope is not lost.
