The 'blessing' that causes the critical event in Torchwood: Miracle Day is a giant pink, fleshy crack running through the center of the earth, that somehow Jack's blood is drawn to (as in any spilled blood literally crawls/rolls in the direction of the 'blessing').

The unfortunate implications of it being a giant vaginal are running rampant in the fandom right now.

The slightly more 'realistic' guess on what the giant hole through the middle of the earth is that it's a fleshy mass of Jack, taken from his body bits at some point.

Who knows? And at this point, not too many people care.

GAH!

Jazus H. Christ on a POPSCICLE STICK!

"Dear RTD and all, what the heck kind of crack are y'all on!?"

Eh, who knows maybe it'll work.

Mother Earth, I guess.

But no, almost everyone is thinking it.

At least on my screen, it looks like a giant petrified vagina, not fleshy. But still with you on the vajayjay angle. I had a big ol' WTF? moment when I first saw it.

Frankly, Jilly's reaction before we even SAW the thing was far more unnerving than the actual Blessing itself.

Well, she deserves an Oscar for acting in the face of that.

At this point I think pulling a Booby Ewing would have been far, far less ridiculous and damaging to the franchise.
