Hello, and welcome to xtremeskooldays, an AU school role play.
Why is it called "xtremeskooldays?" I wanted to make the "school days" pun, but I wanted it to be edgy and cool.
So I turned to my friend tobyMac and his ABSOLUTELY FANTABOLOUS song "Extreme Days." Shorten it down to meet the character requirements, and you have it.
I've wanted to join a RP on LiveJournal, or start one, for the longest time. Finally I came up with an idea I think everyone can agree with: boarding school.
Boarding school RPs are close to my heart. It's what I started with, and I still RP in them to this day.
I'm Haruhitastic. You can also call me DM or Haru. It's really just easier. Anything else you want to know, add me on MSN and
I'm not going to be picky about the people who join. Anyone can join, but all that I ask is that you be competent, both with your character and yourself. Don't god mod, keep it PG-13 (if you feel the need to bang each other like a screendoor in a hurricane, take it to PMs or MSN/AIM/YIM).
OCs are acceptable, as is fancharacters from series, and of course canon characters.
I've never started a RP on LiveJournal before, so bear with me if something doesn't make sense/won't translate well to LJ. I'm used to doing this kind of thing in a forum environment.
Without any further ado:
The school;
The Jefferson Academy is located in the Northeast region of Washington. It was started by Matt Jefferson in the early 1900s as a high school for children whose parents could not handle them, be it their behaviour or their powers. Later on, the Academy began offering a few pre-college courses. Then it offered middle school classes, and finally K-5 in the last eighties.
The campus;
The school is split up into three buildings (
map*): high school and pre-college, middle school, and K-5. These three buildings are tucked at the back of the campus, while the dorms are off to the left and right of the entrance (
map), about two miles away.
Each dorm (and there are five for both genders) contains twenty rooms and room for three students in each (
the inside), as well as two dorm supervisors. These are either teachers, or people hired specifically for the job.
In front of each dorm is a fountain and a sitting area. This is a nice, quiet place for students to study or just hang out.
Many students also hang out in front of the large tree near the main building, and teachers have been known to have their classes in front of it.
Near the entrance (
map) is a cafeteria, as well as the school's bookstore and a library. Off of the campus are many other restaurants and other diversions, such as an arcade and the mall.
The dorms have no names. They are typically called M Dorm 1-5 for the males, F Dorm 1-5 for the females.
* - Yes, I am well aware how absolutely horrible my handwriting and drawing is. It gives you a general gist though, yes?
The students and faculty;
As pointed out earlier, the age range of the students is from kindergarten, all the way to the last year of high school; roughly five to eighteen. The faculty are of various ages, from twenty to their late sixties and seventies. As most students are boarding at the school, they typically live in the dorms. However, some do live in the area, and some have even moved to be convenient to the school and not have to live in the dorms.
If the teachers do not live near by or are the supervisor of a dorm, they live in apartments nearby that are owned by the Academy, yet are not part of the campus. A small amount of their pay is docked each month to pay for their apartments and the utilities (roughly $300 a month).
It is unknown who the headmaster is. He never shows his face and never makes any announcements. For all intents and purposes, the school does not have one.
The courses;
The Jefferson Academy prides itself in the classes that it teaches, as they are by far the best in the United States. And with a wide selection of extra-curriculars, there is no way one will ever be bored.

The story;
Every school has it's own history, and history is most definitely about to be made at the Jefferson Academy.
The Academy is entering it's one hundredth year, and is entering it with one of the smartest and most skilled student bodies it's ever had; as well as the most qualified teachers.
Friendships will be made and lost, people will fall in and out of love. Some will laugh, some will cry. Some will pass, some will fail. Some will be their own person, some will mold to what others want them to be.
Who will you be?
