Wow, that's seriously horrifying. I just don't understand how people could treat anyone, let alone their children like that.

And I don't understand what's wrong with law enforcement that they let her KEEP the child!

Not just law enforcement...but the doctors, and DCFS (which are the three entities legally able to remove a child from his/her home in Illinois).

If I understood what it is about, the police let the mother keep her baby after she had tried to kill her? Are they insane or what? I mean, it couldn't be confused with an accident. You don't let your newborn baby drown in the toilet for 30 minutes, just like that. "Oops, I dropped the baby in the toilet! Well, let's leave her there for a little longer..."
It's just... *shakes head* I have no words.
