One of the biggest lies the gun lobby and some Republicans have been able to perpetuate is that the commie liberals want to take all guns away. When, as far as I know, it's only the most extreme who want to take all guns away. Most intelligent and sane people realize that it's not about taking guns away, it's about making it harder for people who should not have guns to get those guns. It's about making it harder to get guns no one outside of the organized military needs to own.

I guy I used to work w/ actually said that to me: "Don't vote for Obama; he'll take our guns away." I smiled and nodded like I was dealing w/ a delusional person. Oh wait..I was.

I actually go pretty extreme liberal on this one---I don't know that I would shed a tear if they -would- take all of the guns away, because the average person with lower than average knowledge of how to properly use, store, defend themselves with one, keep it out of the hands of one who shouldn't have their hands on one at all is seriously dangerous with one in their possession ( ... )

I'm totally with you on both hunting and assault and rapid fire weapons. :)

John McCain voted against S.AMDT.362 because he favored and cosponsored the legislation already submitted and approved in S.AMDT.344, part of which already required an instant background check at gun shows. http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=106&session=1&vote=00134 Click on S. 254 then Amendments and scroll down) Whoever provided you with this information probably knew this, but it didn’t support their agenda to tell you ( ... )

Actually there was no agenda. :P It was just public record on votesmart.org.

Sure it bothers me. Frankly there's not a politician on earth that's trustworthy, imo. I don't think Obama will do the country anymore damage than Bush has done in the last years, and that McCain will continue to do if he is indeed elected. Plus I just don't like McCain or Palin. *shrugs*

Hmm. I'm not sure if all the states have that (though you're right, they definitely should). I'll have to research that a little more.
