EEEE!
Jimmy and Bill both survived the war with New Bern! YAY!
I'm totally not thrilled with Jake/Emily, but I can deal with it. And here's why: Jake's dad has just died. Heather was supposedly dead. A bunch of people Jake knew just got killed in a war with the neighboring town. Emily was his first love. She's familiar. She's safe.
And Jake did NOT light up when he saw her the way he lit up when he saw Heather. And it wasn't just a "Oh my God, you're not dead" light up. Skeet and Sprague nailed that reunion dead-on.
Loved the continuity in this--"I'm just going to be gone a few days, Jake" line.
I think what we're going to get this season as far as the Emily/Jake/Heather stuff is a look at how Jake/Emily don't really work together. There's just not that much chemistry. I think Jake will see how much Heather has changed, matured.
And yeah, I think there's a whole lot more to the story of what happened to Heather in New Bern and I am waiting anxiously to hear it all. The way she said that the shooter from yesterday was "one of the worst" gave me the chills.
I like Major Beck. I think he's going to turn out to be a good guy. And he's pretty cute, so that doesn't hurt either. And him asking Heather to be the liason between New Bern and Jericho. Wow, that puts her in a pretty important position. Should be interesting to see Jake's reaction to that news, as well as Constantino's. And I'm wondering if Beck didn't kill Mr. Shooter from yesterday because of what Heather said. Hmm.
I don't like that they didn't at least show Emily's reaction to finding out Heather's alive. Aren't they supposed to be BFF? I feel like they're going to shaft us on that friendship. But as a Smallville survivor, I'll deal.
Hawkins/Darcy are made of awesome. Her pointing the gun at Chavez was priceless. Go girl! I did, however, miss Allison. I hope they bring her back at some point and don't just write her and Sam out of the script.
Also Gail was missing, which I knew in advance was going to be the case. And I definitely noticed the lack of her and Johnston. Sad. :(
Stanley and Mimi. Ahahaha. Could they be anymore friggin' cute? I LOVED her marching up to the J & R stand and telling that blonde chick off and getting Stanley's contract rescended. Awesome. Missed Bonnie. :(
Jake as sheriff. Guh. Wow. That's just...wow. *Coughs*
That's all I can think of right now but I'm sure I'll have more thoughts in the next few days. God. Is it next Tuesday yet?? Pleaseeeee let have this show done well in the ratings tonight!!
