I just started transcibing my notesbooks and notes from the past few months a few days ago. Stories I started, or bits of dialouge I had with myself and didn't want to use.

I'm thwarthed on many levels in my writing. I have ADD (so I think faster than I type/write and often loose pacing) plus I have the handwriting (and bad speeling) of a serial killer. So for me, writing on the computer helps me by spell checking and making everything easier to read. Plus I work 40+ hours a week on a computer. Kind of easier to screw off and write fan fic if you have a window minimized at the bottom of my screen, as compared to sitting hunched over a notepad, scribbling pieces of hot smutty fun and being paranoid of my boss reading it over my shoulder.

But still, there are times when I find that I'll have an idea, but the words just won't flow and the only way to kick my juices into action is too just sit down with my Mp3 player, a mechanical pen and a notepad and just start writing. Most of my better dialouge come from just having conversations with my pen.

I think its all good as long as you are feeding your muse and creating something. Be it gold or crap. Its all just gravy baby.
