“Candle light”

In times of need
Darkness seems to seed
And a persons selfishness
Darken the room with hopelessness
And in this darkest night
Lies the candle light
Always shinning for me
So I’m able to see
My way
To where it will be okay
Even when my past
Begins to haunt in vast
Drowning on missed chances
And my slow advances
Giving up on things I wanted
Just left me unwanted
In the mist of chaos and confusion
I stare past the lights illusion
It reminds me
Of what I forget to see
So I hover close to the candle light
Hoping it will save me from the night
Only to realize
I know what I forget to see
The light that can come from within me
All the dreams and smiling faces
All the love in familiar places
How my heart warms
The care you have that forms
Even when I remember my mistakes
I remember the fire and the light it makes
As it burns brighter
I bring it in tighter
For now this candle light
Becomes my cure to the night
And I bless you candle light
For reminding me how to do things right
For now I see what shines
Is the light escaping from my heart
Burning bright to scare away the night
