I got Basil the second hand cat last Sunday. I figured it would be nice to have a furry friend again, now that the drywall dust has settled. I have missed having a lap buddy. Uilliam's sister moved to an apartment last summer and Basil was going crazy without a yard, we met and it seemed like a good match.
I was wrong. He is antisocial,he has bad habits like food stealing, digging thru the garbage clawing furniture/walls, and howling all night. I had him inside for 3 days before I let him out,I would have kept him in longer but I wanted to kill him. Its weird that a cat that misses the outside world runs away from the open door, and has to be physically dumped outside. I felt like a very mean person the first day, I put him out on a dry sunny morning when I was home, but by the time he came back it was midnight and there was snow on the ground.
I think I have to contact the previous owner and return him. I feel bad about it, but when I was standing out in the snow calling him I realized I was only doing it out of guilt, not because I actually cared about him. Maybe Im not ready for a pet yet.
