Escape Key - A Livejournal Exclusive
My first “Specific to LJ” post, oddly enough… You won’t find this on FF. Ever.
Title: Escape Key

Summary: Axel was the escape key- nothing more, nothing less. It was always on your mind, it was always useful, but not really required until nothing else could be done.
Axel was the escape key in Organization XIII.
He didn’t know much about computers, but he knew what it did. It got you out of something you didn’t want happening, like a full-screen that was taking up too much RAM. When a project was taking up more attention that it should have been Axel took it out- it was as simple as that. Was there some big, bad heartless that needed to be somewhere other than an abyss where no people were? Simply take the following advice- send Axel. He will kill it, causing it to melt into darkness, and then it will reform where there are hearts and further their plans along. He was very useful to the Organization- no doubt about it. He was possibly the best fighter they had, apart from Xemnas who they all knew would never get his own hands dirty before everyone else died and he had no one to do the job for him.
In a way, number eight was simply a tool for the Organization to use to its own ends. Is someone plotting an uprising? Get Axel. Was there a fake keyblade wielder in their midst? Call Axel. When one of their members leaving the Organization? Axel was the one to put into action.
Turning on the Organization was simply taking a tool away from them- it wouldn’t stall them for long. He helped the enemy, then; gave them the escape key.
By the time he faded, he realized that all he wanted to do was Ctrl+Z- no more of this Esc business.
He was tired of helping people run, including himself.

Just came up with the idea randomly. LOL- Axel is the Esc key... I never use him. Ever. I just saw it on my keyboard and thought "Hmm... Axel's kind of like an escape key..."
