One of the best nights this year.

Tonight was.. simply spectacular- I can't use just one word to explain it.  It was SO amazing.. I still can't believe it actually happened.
Tonight, we had planned to see Death Cab for Cutie in concert at the Kool house.  It all began at Union station..

I met Ana at Union station at 6:30 so we could all go together to the Kool house to see Death Cab!  We had been planning to see them now for a month and a bit.. but we didn't have any tickets!  Apparently they had sold out in 3 minutes.  So we went to test our luck with Scalpers.   This,  unknown to us at that time, was one of the best ideas ever.  However, we had a huge scare when Ana called Garland, who was supposed to meet us there, and she told us that the scalpers had no tickets!  AHH!  But we went to the Kool house anyway, just to see if we could still get away with seeing the concert.

On our arrival, we noticed an already long line-up, and very many people were asking us if we had tickets.  We did the same; asked people if they had tickets.  The scalpers who we asked did not have any tickets, and one kindly told us that if WE had tickets, he would purchase one for at least $80.  (the original price was $26.50, or something).  We then met up with Garland and her friend, who told us they also had had no luck with our problem.  So we decided to keep walking along the street and asking people if they had any tickets.  No luck.  We returned to the front of the Guvernment (night club beside the Kool house), where there were a bunch of scalpers hanging around.  There, we met a guy who was in the same boat as us.. except he was only looking for one ticket.  So Ray(the guy) decided to join our search, since we had a theory that the bigger our group, the easier it would be to find tickets.
Suddenly, another guy came up to us, and asked us if we were looking for a way into the concert.  (YES!!)  He asked us how much the scalpers were asking for tickets, and we said they were going for $180 now (which they were), and that we only had $40 to spend(which we did).  The nice guy said he had tickets, and that he'd give it to us for FREE!  Holy shit were we happy.  He had exactly 6, and we had 6 people!  I couldn't believe it, and still really can't.  But it happened!  This guy is now the coolest guy in the entire universe!!!!!!!!!!  My hero.  We absolutely freaked, had a huge group hug, and got in line for the show.

However, when we looked at our new free tickets, we noticed they weren't exactly.. regular tickets.  They weren't ticketmaster tickets.  They looked very much like..  fake tickets!  Uh oh.   We were in line with two of Ray's friends.. and we formulated all these ideas on why this random guy (who actually had a Kool House badge on him, so he obviously worked there) would give us these fake tickets.  But we didn't leave the line!  We decided to stay and to see what would happen when we showed these tickets at the entrance.  When we got closer to the entrance, we weren't exactly sure of our plans anymore.  We didn't want to look like idiots!  But then Garland suggested we should stick it out, and be brave.  The worst thing that could happen is that we don't get in!

But we did.  Those tickets were REAL!  We got into Death Cab for Cutie for free.  Man, oh man were we in shock.  But the night got even better!  I was introduced to a band I hadn't heard of before(Youth Group, from Australia), and Death Cab were SO FUCKING AMAZING!   They played mostly old songs (Title and Registration, Lack of Color, and Transatlanticism as an encore piece) and a few from their new album, which came out a few weeks ago.  Holy shit was it awesome.

Absolutely one of the best concerts yet!  I can't wait till they return to Toronto.
