I hate allergies with such a passion that words cannot describe it. And it's not like I can even go to the office or anything, because I did that a few weeks ago, so (even though my allergies are worse this time) I expect I'd get the exact same reception if I tried it today. But really, I don't like sneezing my head off all morning. It really generally sucks. Oh, and we're supposed to go outside and take pictures today. Yeah. There is no way this can possibly end well. (Though I now have a shiny new camera to use, courtesy of Mr. Murray. ...though I have no idea, really, how to transfer images and whatnot, so maybe it's not so awesome. Oops.)

...and... really, I don't have anything else to say. Except that we're supposed to be at the bus tomorrow at 9:45, which means that we still have to go to first block. Which means that we still have to go to history. Which sucks.

Oh, and it's supposed to get up to 92 degrees today. Yeah. Sounds like fun.

edit: Not out taking pictures anymore because, oops, allergies. Forgot to mention a few fun bits from English, though. First we had to talk about someone who had, due to a crisis in their lifetime, built up their character. We were, unfortunately, limited to real-life people or characters from literature (though I bet I could have used CG characters if I'd wanted to, since there are CG novels, and I don't think anyone would have noticed if I used Luke fon Fabre or Neku Sakuraba, since I'm the only person in the class who's played those games anyway), so I picked Nagi Kirima from Boogiepop (since I was reading Boogiepop anyway). So then I get to explain the crisis in Nagi's life and how she built up character over it. And then I learned that I have to write a one-page essay about it.

Fun bit number two came in the form of thesis-writing practice. "Write a persuasive thesis," says Ms Padilla. "The topic is, 'Should violent video games be banned completely?'" Naturally, she couldn't have picked something that would annoy me more than that one. I am so tired of hearing about how violent video games need to be banned, and offend people's delicate sensibilities, and make teenagers shoot up their schools, and make small children shoot each other, and... just, whatever people say about 'violent' video games. So when she has us share our theses (thesises?), I read mine out. "Violent video games," I said, "should not be completely banned, because they already have a perfectly working ratings system that was designed by people concerned about violent video games being readily available to age groups that should not be playing them." You could hear the annoyance in my voice. I was really annoyed. It was also declared to be a very strong thesis. Fortunately, we don't have to write a full essay on that. (But mine would be the best if we did. "The only flaw with the current ESRB ratings system is not actually with the system itself. It is with the idiotic parents who buy their twelve-year-olds M-rated games just because they want them and will throw a fit until the parents give in, only for the parents to be shocked and outraged when they learn that little Johnny can blow people's heads off in the game that they bought for him. The only real solution is to whack all parents like this with a clue-by-four until they either learn something or die from blunt force trauma to the skull, which - considering the mentality of the people who do this - seems rather ineffective. However, since the ratings system works just fine, there is no call for the games to be banned.")

...well, I said it annoys me. I really meant it.

Also, the clocks in the classrooms on one half of the school seem to be working fine, but the clocks in the other half don't. It's very odd.
