My first thought is, "Hahahahahaha-no." Because, I mean, seriously, what would an animal have to regret? "Oh damn, I really shouldn't have eaten that rabbit, it might have had a wife and kids to support." Riiiiight. Then the "but people are animals too!" thought kicks in. And yeah, we are, and yeah, we feel regret. But then I remember - and this is an important lesson, guys, I learned it reading Anita Blake books, so you know it has to be true - that when people think and act like animals, they don't regret what they're doing when they're in that state of mind. They only regret it after.
And sometimes they don't even regret it after. Because they're crazy. Like sociopaths and serial killers.
So bottom line: no, I don't think that animals feel regret.
