The crashing piano melody I hear and the raindrops I see
Always capture this introspective drama best
Through a windshield
Below amber fluorescent lights.
The company of total strangers
Below a designated neon sign,
A sure sign of home, respectfully lacking family.
Thick and thin, hell or high water,
Contemplations are the deity of choice,
And my religion is uncertainty.
Freely connected to the digital domain,
Inconsistency reigns my routines.
Soft sliding melody floats over my eyes
Serenity unveils soliloque,
An unwanted monologue
Blessed to be blind, oblivious to impending despair.
Always captured best behind rain pattered glass
Cool air slipping through an abyss of space
Whispers into my ear
And the recompense dies at last when I reach the end of the night
And reach the driveway.
- i looked up nostagia in the dictionary, and i saw last night.
