cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as you..

So i got home from camp yesterday, and wow. it felt like i was up there for the entire summer and not just two weeks. so much seemed to happen-
i basically had two contrasting cabins. the first one.......wow. nothing has tested my patience more than them. lol and the second week they were basically perfect. so it was awesome. :)

during the first week, the girls camp director had her best friend Marie come visit (who works with world vision) and with Marie came two girls from Kosavo. Fatmire, and i cant remember the other girl's name. Fatmire is 17, and her sister is 15.
they are both up for the nobel peace prize.

Fatmire is stronger in english than her sister, so she told us (the staff) her story. she has been through so much, stuff that no one should have to witness. growing up she basically had no concept of the word peace. kosavo was constantly in a war with Serbia, and it was similar to the "ethnic cleansing" that happened in Rwanda. half of her family was killed. the rest escaped by living in the mountains.
when she was 11, she started a peace project for the children of kosavo. they went to government officials and would do jobs to keep the peace between them.

.........an 11 year old leading a bunch of OTHER 11 year olds, and even younger, to keep peace between full grown government officials...........so...i cant grasp that. ever.

anyway. she's founded many other peace projects in her country since then, and that is why she's up for the nobel peace prize. i really hope she wins, she'll definitely deserve it.

anyways- the reason of this story: its really opened my eyes to how little we're doing in canada. we take SO much for granted. we're so closed minded to what fortunes we really have.
her story really inspired me to get involved in other countries, even if its just sending over funds, or small supplies like markers and paper for schools.

it also really made my obsession with russia clear lol i really feel that i am supposed to get involved further- maybe get involved with my dad's charity, or go over and do some work in the orphanages and schools, i duno. but either way. i just wanted to share that little inspiration that i had, and really encourage everyone to never take advantage of what they have here, because we really are SO lucky.

lol ok. so next update i'll tell you about camp.

das vi dania.
