Oook - so there's this thing called Encore at Anderson, and basicially it's just a big themed performance sponsored by a social club, (the closest thing we have to frats/sororities). Anyways - so there are 4 Encores a year, and the last one had an 80s theme. I was gonna be in that one, but i decided to just watch it to see what it was all about first. It was a blast, and I decided right then and there that I was going to be in the next one. So when the sign up sheets for Movie Soundtrack Encore went up, I jumped at the opportunity. I went and auditioned with that lame-o song from Coyote Ugly ("But I Do Love You") I really don't like the song, but it was quick and easy, so whatever. Couple weeks later I found out that I got in.
To tell you the truth, I've been dreading it for weeks now. I don't know why, but I think it's just basically nerves. I'm not very passionate about the song, I haven't sung in front of an audience for forever and I've never performed in front of this many people before (probably about 1500). But I went to my soundcheck today and I totally remembered why I love to perform. I got up on stage and the band started playing and this amazing feeling just came over me. I love this kind of thing - and now that I've practiced with the band and all, I feel a lot more confidant. It should be great. My song is gonna be hella boring compared to most of the other acts, but that's ok. I'm excited anyways. I wish you all could be there to see it - not only for mine, but for the rest of it, too. People go crazy. Someone is doing the Oompa Loompa song from Willy Wonka, and it's just gonna be really funny. WHOOOO. What a rush. Plus, all my friends and boyfriend, who have never heard me sing before, are gonna be there - so now the pressure is really on. I need to go run.
