Alright. I got a job a couple months ago with a natural gas supplier called Universal Gas & Electric. Basically, my job is visiting people's houses (going door-to-door) and signing them up with us. I get payed commission. $25 dollars for every person I sign up. When I started school, I began working around my house; the Fenton-Holly area. I used to go into the office everyday - do role playing, and go out with a team to a specified area. Now that school has started, I've turned into what they call an "independent agent." I work on my own basically, only going into the office once a week to turn in my deals, and working in the areas I choose. Now, to my point...
Ever since I've started doing this the "higher-ups" in the office have been breathing down my neck. I don't fucking get it. I get paid cooommmisssioooonnnn. I'm getting as many if not MORE deals now than I was when I went to the office everyday, so why the fuck do they think they need to keep a leash on me? Even if I don't work, it's not costing them any money because I get paid COMMISSION. I should be able to do whatever I want. Even if I only work one day a week, it's a hell of a lot better than me not working for them at all. It's still making THEM money. So I think I have the upper hand. I'm the one who's in a position to control the situation. As long as I keep production up, I should be able to take as many days off as I want and work whatever hours I'd like.
So yeah, fuck them. I'm gonna stop being scared to take the day off when I want to. There's no need to make up reasons for not working. In reality, their only move could be to threaten to fire me, but again, that would not benefit them AT ALL. I really truly think I am in an amazing position. Fuck em.
