Tonight, as the belltower chimed 9pm, I saw a fireball fall from the sky on queue, and I had no one to share it with except the third floor art building dance studio. At first, I thought a plane had fallen, but the orange flame disappeared after 3 seconds. Suddenly, I miss senior year again, watching meteor showers from my bedroom window, and going outside to get a better view of one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen nature conjure.
Tonight, the moon is at its full, and at 3:30am, it almost looks like daytime. The clouds are immobile, and a plane barely dodges the moon.
And I wonder to myself how sublime a meteor shower would look from the sky.
We worry incessantly about so many things, and we fail to see what beauty this world has to offer us. Every night, I spend 10 minutes on my balcony, and allow myself a chance to look at what's above me. Stars dance when the Riverside smog isn't tainting the sky. Times like these, I shake hands with insomnia and thank it for visiting.
I guess there is a plus for having a 7-10pm class.
