What I've learned in Journalism school....
The world is full of 10 times more bullshit than I thought there was before Journalism school.
Stifling your own opinion when writing about current events is really fucking difficult.
Stifling my own opinion when writing about Sarah Palin is physically impossible.
If I don't stifle my own opinion in the next article I have "a really good chance of not making it in this department"
Journalism sucks
Journalism rules
And lastly...
If you don't want to hear about asinine and completely fucking irrelevant issues to this election (i.e. pigs, lipstick, teenage pregnancy, elitism, whatever) speak up. Somehow. Some way. Like all other money making services in this country, media companies are businesses. We're the customers and they cater to what we say we want.
Fuck it. Here's an analogy. Every night, the media feeds us our evening meals. Right now I'd say the majority is getting a hot plate of like 4 Big Macs. Big Macs are heavenly delicious, no doubt about it. So is gossip, and teenage pregnancies, and celebrity meltdowns, and scandals, and so on and on and on. I'll admit it's interesting and pretty captivating to see these people set up these huge perfect personas and just fail epically but, like big macs this shit is just unhealthy. But, I get it. Congress records are fucking boring. Economic policies are fucking boring. Everything that really matters is just dull and tedious to look over. But, like a fat bowl of spinach or oat bran is just downright awful, it's good for you. In the grand scheme of things it benefits you a lot more than a Big Mac would. We're probably fucked either way but, think about it, I guess.
Hope all is well with all of you. Speak up if you have something to add, correct, or just verbally berate me with.
