“You guys, a Christmas miracle is at the door.” Convinced that it’s f(x), Santa Claus, or IU, five boys come thundering through various doors to see what it is Dongwoon is shouting about, only to stop in a mess of confused faces and stumbling limbs. Standing in the door is not Amber, or Santa, or IU, but a tiny girl dressed in pink with thick dark hair and wide, brown eyes. She’s holding a stuffed pig in one arm and a thin cotton blanket in the other, looking up at the six of them blankly.
“… What do you mean a Christmas miracle? It’s November,” Hyunseung finally says, not looking at Dongwoon, but at their visitor, like he’s waiting for her to do something other than stare at them. “And… and-” He begins, unsure of what to say. “Where did she come from?”
“Gege!” she cries, burying her face in her blanket and wedging herself between Dongwoon’s legs.
“That was Chinese,” Junhyung says, watching her curl her arms around one of Dongwoon’s calves, “is that all she speaks?” Dongwoon holds her shoulders and kneels down in front of her. He says something in English and she nods in understanding and talks back.
“She speaks English. Not very well, but she says she’s three and that her name is Ming, so,” he stops, watching as she shuffles across the floor to stare up at the other five BEAST members.
“Ming,” Yoseob repeats, watching her. “Man, she’s really cute. Where did she come from?” Dongwoon takes over and asks her where her parents are. Ming says something that’s a hurried mess of Chinese and English and Dongwoon sighs.
“She says that her mama is in Beijing and that she’s here with her sister… I think. Or brother. But she’s lost.” Everyone exchanges glances while Ming makes herself at home on the couch, watching the six of them wonder what on earth they’re going to do with a three-year-old that speaks Chinese and English and needs to find her way home.

“Lucky for us, Yoseob’s dancing is universal.” Doojoon and Kikwang watch as Ming twirls around Yoseob’s feet, pink dress fluttering around her legs as she howls along with Taeyang’s I Need a Girl. Occasionally, Yoseob picks her up and she shrieks “flying, flying!” before he sets her down and continues dancing with her. “How did she get here? Someone’s looking for her.”
Doojoon sighs. “Well, of course we have to take her out to find her sibling, but we don’t even know where to look. What if she gets hungry? All we’ve got around here is junk food.” The two of them sigh again; usually the management took care of food. “We can pool our money and get her some stew from that place around the corner. She can’t eat that much.”
Hyunseung swoops in to hoist Ming above his head, Yoseob watching as she giggles and drops her blanket on his face. Hyunseung attempts to blow it off his face, but instead brings her in closer so she can take it back. “Gege! Hungry! Hungry!” Her Korean is awkward and accented but she conveys it well by smacking her lips. Hyunseung leans in to plant a kiss on her cheek and she smiles.
“Kissing you baby~.” Everyone pokes a head in to see Ming humming SNSD and kissing Hyunseung’s cheek right back.

The trip to the small restaurant down the street had been productive. Junhyung had managed to teach her that they were all oppas (versus geges; Ming takes to the Korean language like a duck to water) and Dongwoon found out her favorite song is f(x)’s Chu~. Once they’re sat down in the restaurant and counting what money they have on hand, Ming is seated in Kikwang’s lap and drawing on a napkin with the ballpoint from Dongwoon’s pocket.
“Okay, so, we have enough to get her something. Dongwoon, ask her what her favorite food is.” Dongwoon leans in to ask her and her face lights up.
“Beef noodles! Beef noodles!” She makes a slurping noise and everyone knows they’re in for one gigantic mess when they’re done.

Feeding Ming had proven to be messier than initially inspected. Broth had ended up everywhere on her clothing (and Kikwang’s pants) and Dongwoon’s hands. She was full and much in need of a bath and once they were back at the apartment, they were all standing outside the bathroom door staring into it like it was inhabited by a very angry ghost. “So,” Yoseob begins, “who’s going to give Ming a bath?”
It takes him a few seconds to realize they’re all staring at him. “Fine. You all owe me.” He takes Ming into the bathroom and the rest of them disperse. When Ming streaks through, sopping wet and still partially covered in soap, they turn to see Yoseob standing outside of the bathroom with a full bubble beard and reasonably soaked clothes.
“She’s clean,” he says, “but her clothes are dirty. We need to find some.” After chasing her around the apartment and finally cornering her on the beds, they stick her in one of Yoseob’s t-shirts and a pair of his boxers pulled tight with a hair tie.
“We really need to find her sibling.”

The day ends with all six of them passing out in varied positions on the living room floor, on top of coloring book pages and crayons with Ming curled up tight against Doojoon and Junhyung. The thunderous knocking at the door wakes Kikwang first, and he gets up to answer it.
The woman on the other side bombards him in Korean with accent so thick he can feel it. But it’s clear enough who she is. “Please, my little sister, I can’t find her! Her name is Ming, and she’s-” She spots Ming on the floor, asleep in Yoseob’s clothes. “Oh thank goodness, you found her!”
“Yeah,” Kikwang says sleepily, “more like she found us.” He walks over to lift her out from under Doojoon’s arm. The noise the papers and crayons on the floor make wakes everyone up. Hyunseung disappears momentarily and comes back with Ming’s clothes, blanket, and pig.
“Thank you,” Ming’s sister says for the thousandth time, “thank you so much for looking after her. I don’t know how to thank you enough.” The six of them look at Ming’s drawings of them and her coloring books, and smile.
“I think you’ve already thanked us enough.”
