Went to see my mom today...and as per usual, I came home royally pissed off.

I want a puppy. Maybe not a 3 month old puppy but a DOG would be nice. Something to have in the apartment with me when James isn't here. Something that I can cuddle and pet and take care of as opposed to sitting in front of the TV or computer and doing absolutely nothing

What about a cat? They are generally less expensive than dogs, and less high maintenance. They're also very apartment friendly. They can be a bit finicky when it comes to affection, though(except for ours, who seem to thrive on loving us to death.)

As far as the compatibility test...IMO, that's crazy-ness. You know you're compatible, otherwise you wouldn't want to get married. Sounds like just a way to get more money out of you. What if you straight up tell them you can't afford it? Would they let you take it for free? Use a payment plan? Let you get married without it?

Yeah. Cats for Aki = death. Cats for me mean misery and constant watery eyes. In fact, I don't think there's a single member of The Tribe that ISN'T allergic to cats in some fashion.

Besides, Jon hates cats. Like one time Aki's mom was cat sitting and Jon had to house sit while they were in Colorado...the cat misbehaved so Jon filled the tub with about two inches of water and tossed the cat into it and shut the door.

I hope they never have children.

We also fed that cat a listerine strip and it was fully awesome. Jon said it didn't happen though, the tub thing. Also, it's not so much a compatibility thing as it is a "Lets nail out the issues before you get married" thing.

I'm pretty sure that Jeff won't be mad or not let you get married if you can't pay him this week. Just explain that things are tight. He's not going to freak out on you about it.
