I'm sure you've all heard "isn't it ironic" by Alannis Morriset... yeah, I'm STUDYING IT. asshole. There is alot of deep stuff going on in that song, and thus far no one has taken the time to dissect it, let alone arrange it for Steel drum band. (neither here nor there, but I am doing that) But what I'm mainly concerned with is the lyrical content, and her liberal take on poetic licence. Take for instance:

"It's like rain, on a rainy day."
"It's like free cake, when you've already ate."

Basically what that's trying to get across is that you can't have your cake and eat it to. Pretty simple, yet pretty deep, but pretty complex & pretty easy and definitely effective. Morriset is a genuis...
