High school has been a very large stepping stone in my life. I remember my 9th grade summer, I was so nervous to go into the big high school with all the older kids. I’m a senior now and I am even more nervous to go into college. There has been so much drama at Anchor Bay High School, I’ve always wanted to get away from it. I’ve realized that there will be drama no matter where I go in life. I never thought I would be sad to leave, but I am. I’ve made some amazing friends throughout the years, mostly this year. I am going to miss leaving all my freshman, sophomore and junior friends. I will never forget them. Even though my three best friends moved away in their senior year at Anchor Bay, I stayed and I am proud to be graduating from this beautiful school. Farewell to my high school years, but I have so much more to look forward to.
*Farewell to:
-Waking up at 6:20am every morning, Monday-Friday for four years, trying to get dressed and run out the door to the bus/car.
-Detentions and suspensions. It’s not my fault that I’m tardy, people walk too slow. It’s also not my fault that I feel the need to talk on my cell phone all day every day.
-Teachers, some of the best and worst. I can’t say I’ve learned a lot but thanks for those that tried to teach me.
-The parking lot. I shall miss sitting there for a half an hour trying to get out.
-My oh so trendy locker. I will miss you very much. You were my Eminem shrine and a place for all garbage that I collected over the years.
-The shaft that I sat at every single morning. Before first hour, I got about 10 minutes to socialize or fight with my friends.
-The pep assemblies. Everyone hated them but secretly they loved them. It was always fun trying to get out of the gym too. I’ve never been so crowed in my hole life.
-Pajama Day. I fear that I will miss you the most. On this wonderful day, I just rolled out of bed and went to school. That saved me like 6 minutes of sleep.
-C Lunch. I will no longer have to wait 15 minutes in line to be served disgusting leftovers from the previous two lunches.
-The fights. Everyone loves to see a good fight. Kids running to see who was pulling who’s hair. Morning fights were the best because it woke everyone up.
-Band class. Band geeks are by far the coolest group of kids. The majority of my friends I have known from band since 6th grade. Band is a class that you dreaded but loved more than any other class. I will miss the band concerts and the after glows too.
-The chaotic last days of yearbook signing. The little sayings are going to be missed too, like KIT (keep in touch) and ASS (always stay sweet). Like I was ever sweet?
-Half days. Oh I loved those. Going out to lunch with friends and then going home to sleep. Half days rocked!
-The football games. Those were some of the funniest nights of my life. Even though we hardly ever won, it was still fun to make fun of the ugly cheerleaders on the other side of the field. The marching band was awesome too.
-Homecoming and Prom. Memorable nights getting all dolled up and arriving in limo’s with insane amounts of money being spent.
Farewell Anchor Bay. I love you and I’ll miss you but I will never forget you.
